Very quickly, because some of us have lives…the high points from this past weekend. The stuff you actually do need to know. More fallout, I’m certain, is coming. Sort of like winter. But the fallout won’t take several books. Count on it.
Episode #144 for G.I. Joe: Retaliation 3D, in which our protagonist finally has something nice to say about some fight sequences, is glad that certain likable actors are getting steady work and really wishes he still had his Castle Grayskull playset. It all makes sense in the video. (Not really.)
So we don’t get a new G.I. Joe movie this summer. But don’t worry, because quicker than you can say “MASS Device” we have something Joe-related to help ease the pain (or maybe enhance your relief, depending on how you felt about the film). New Era Cap has just launched a line of G.I. Joe caps and we’ve got four of the Snake Eyes ones to give away. (They’re black, of course we got those.)
They’ve sent us four of them. Want to win one? Excellent. Here’s how that happens: you enter using the form below. Remember you can enter once a day. If we draw your name when the contest ends, you snag it! Good luck!
And for more info on New Era Cap, check out their official site here.
Contest is closed! Thanks for playing.

We’re back after some time away because sometimes everybody needs a little time away. Now, the purpose of these posts is to keep you up to date on what’s happening in the world of pop culture. Just one post, as is warranted, to bring you up to speed. Because you have better things to do than read a bunch of re-printed/paraphrased press releases. Enjoy.
Okay, there’s lots of things that happen on a pop culture basis. You don’t have time to read a site that wants to pick them apart one by one. So we try to make the process as painless as possible so you can be up to speed. Thus, we will do a drive-by commentary, so to speak. That’s the plan with catching up on trailers–we got a bit behind with the holidays attacking us like they did. So here we go.
It’s Weekend Justice: the Internet’s #1 audio trainwreck. It’s the podcast that assures you no pigs were harmed in its making. This podcast was engineered–some might say over-engineered–by experts to escort you from the work week in the most chaotic manner possible. Please note: this podcast is profane, definitely oversexed and definitely overwrought. It is wrong and unsafe. You have been warned.
Here’s a random array of Hasbro Toys. They sent them why? Because they love you. And we figured we’d just give the whole shebang away to one lucky person. What you see is what you get–almost. The Han Solo: Star Wars Legacy Collection 3.75″ figure is not a “1st day” one as pictured. (Why is that important, anyway? Are the molds fresher?) Anyway, also in the mix is a Marvel Universe: Green Goblin 3.75″ figure, a G.I. Joe Scarlett 3.75″ figure and a Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe figure.
How do you win? Enter using the form below and enter once a day. If we draw your name when the contest ends, you snag all four toys. Good luck!

Review: Casting Ray Park as Snake Eyes earned them a lot of leeway. I was even willing to forgive the fact that they put lips on his mask. It’s the ninja equivalent of Bat-Nipples. But they countered that with a good deal of brilliant homage, as well as enough kicksplode to entertain me for the two hours needed. Even if they twisted a fond childhood memory a bit (Accelerator Suits…? The hell?), the action made it a fun movie. Not a great movie by any means, mind you, but a fun one.
Time: 21 seconds
That’s right, it’s the series that gave us laser rifles that shot with such terrible accuracy that hardly anyone ever actually got shot. And Shout! Factory is re-releasing the whole shebang on DVD. Here’s what they have to say about this first installment:
We’ve got three copies of the set here–and you can win one. It’s easy to do: just enter using the form below. Enter once a day. And if we draw your name when the contest ends, you win. And now you know.
An entire website’s worth of pop culture news in a single post. Because it’s silly to rewrite press releases into 500 word articles…wouldn’t you say?
