Your Weekend Justice #154: The Editing Nightmare!

It’s Weekend Justice: the Internet’s #1 audio trainwreck. It’s the podcast that will always be bigger when it’s being recording than it seems when it finally assaults your ears. This podcast was engineered–some might say over-engineered–by experts to escort you from the work week in the most chaotic manner possible. Please note: this podcast is profane, definitely oversexed and definitely overwrought. It is wrong and unsafe. You have been warned.

Wayhomer Review #79: Conan the Barbarian (2011)

Jason Momoa as Conan the Barbarian

Episode #79 for Conan the Barbarian (2011), in which our protagonist apologizes to Jason Momoa, berates Fandango and AMC and winds up taking a wrong left turn at Kobayashi Kalibak. Please note: at some point, I may have inadvertently said “Burroughs” instead of “Howard.” For some reason, especially when driving, I mix up William S. Burroughs and Robert E. Howard. Go figure.

    Win The Job on DVD!

    The Job DVD Cover Art

Magnolia Home Entertainment is releasing The Job, a dark comedy starring Ron Perlman and Joe Pantoliano on DVD. What’s the film all about? Here’s what they have to say for themselves:

Out of work and desperate for a job, hapless Bubba Brady’s (Patrick Flueger; Brothers, The 4400) luck is about to change. After receiving a tip from a drifter (Ron Perlman; Hellboy, Mutant Chronicles), Bubba is hired by an employment agent (Joe Pantoliano; The Matrix, The Sopranos) and lands a job that seems too good to be true. Bubba’s girlfriend (Taryn Manning; Hustle & Flow, 8 Mile) is thrilled over the opportunity to finally start a life together, but the job is not as advertised. Bubba will have to learn if he has the killer instincts to do what it requires.

Would you like a copy? Great, because we have three to give away. To take your chance at winning one, just fill the form out below. You can enter once a day if you like. If we draw your name when the contest is over, you win. Good luck!

Stuff You Need to Know, Monday, November 10, 2008

On some sites, each of these snippets would be an entire 500 word post. We don’t have time for that crap and neither do you. Enjoy.

  • A Happy Days musical? Apparently so. And apparently it’s been around since 2006. If you want to see a review of the latest incarnation, check it out here. And I found a commercial for it with some bits.

Did he say “kickass”? Is that allowed?

  • Well apparently they got what they wanted: Djimon Hounsou will voice the Black Panther in the BET/Marvel animated series. They still haven’t come to their senses and used a decent storyline to adapt, however. Christopher Priest or nothing, folks. I’m sorry, but that’s how it goes. Source: Variety.

Stuff: They Saved Hitler’s Brain: The Musical. Ohhh. Yes.

    They Saved Hitler's Brain

  • I am now officially happy as hell. Jon and Al Kaplan, the batshit crazy yet brilliant duo behind Silence!, the Silence of the Lambs musical, are doing the songs and book for They Saved Hitler’s Brain, being remade as a sci-fi musical comedy. You might have noticed that any crazy musical idea I’ve mentioned Team Kaplan could handle it–and now my dream is coming true. Frea-king awesome. Source: Variety.

Don’t you want that head to start singing? Christ, I can’t wait.
