Win The Essential Games of The Detroit Tigers on DVD!

Essential Games of the Detroit Tigers DVD

It’s a boxed set designed by Detroit Tigers fans for Detroit Tigers fans. Here’s what they have to say for themselves–or rather, what A&E has to say–the fans already spoke by voting for the games…

Showcasing four television broadcasts of games that are the heart of the love affair between fans and ball club, these games, selected by tigers.com readers, mark glorious chapters in the history of the franchise. A Bengal-striped celebration that salutes the nostalgic glory from Tiger Stadium hosting the 1968 World Series to the present-day peninsula-shaking magic of Comerica Park: All 100% baseball made in Detroit. The games featured include:

  • DISC 1: 1968 World Seriesâ„¢ Game 5 VS. STL (October 7, 1968) Mickey Lolich finished off a complete game with eight scoreless innings, and Al Kaline led a Tigers rally in the sixth inning.
  • DISC 2: 1984 World Series Game 5 VS. SD (October 14, 1984) The Tigers pounced early and late behind Kirk Gibson and clinched the World Series championship.
  • DISC 3: Final Game at Tiger Stadium VS. KC (September 27, 1999) The Tigers beat the Royals 8-2 in the final game played at Tiger Stadium, home of the Tigers from 1912-2000.
  • DISC 4: 2006 ALCSâ„¢ Game 4 VS. OAK (October 14, 2006) Magglio Ordonez’ 2-out, 3-run walk-off home run caps a Tigers comeback and sends them to the World Series.
