More music picks for your Monday, co-curated by Rob Levy. If you like what you hear, use the links provided to snag it for yourself from Amazon. Doing so through us gives us kickbacks, and those help pay for stuff like more bandwidth. And also so we can buy more music.
Rob brings us the new release from Ladytron, Gravity the Seducer. Here's the video for the new single, "White Elephant."
Here's a track and I don't even remember how I found it. But it's "Vasaraasialainen." The band is Alamaailman Vasarat. I don't know what any of it means, but I dig the hell out of it.
This performance is apparently from the DVD Haudasta Lomilla, which isn't available for Region 1, alas. And the studio version of the track is from an album whose name breaks Amazon. So I can't even tell you what it is. The cover art and Wikipedia says it's Käärmelautakunta. I just know it's here.
I do enjoy this. It's The Stateside Menace. This is the track "Dance Rock Sellout" from their album Desperate Times. I feel an affinity for anything that equates love with sharp things. I know, I'm odd.
You can snag the entire album (and stream it and check out more) at their Bandcamp page.
Rob also brings us Neutral Milk Hotel and In the Aeroplane Over the Sea. Here's the title track:
I go back to a classic here from Howard Tate, "8 Days on the Road." It's just so good.
And lastly, Rob throws us the Pixies classic album Bossanova. I grabbed the track "All Over the World." Here tis.
