12.13.08 by ScottC @ 5:59 pm Film: Written by: Peter Yeldham, based on the novel by Roger McDonald Released by: BFS Entertainment My Advice: Don't Bother Billy Mackenzie and Walter Gilchrist are best friends out in the Australian Outback. Billy is the typical bad boy: screwing around, getting into fights, and being James Dean about 40 years early. Walter is the good son: going to college, listening to his parents, and nervous around girls. Of course, both of them are attracted to the same girl, a spirited lass named Frances (Thornton). Both men feel trapped in their lives: Billy by his reputation as the baby boy and Walter by being the dutiful son. When war breaks out in Europe, both see it as an opportunity to escape and become part of something bigger. But both will find much more than they bargained for in the tranches of Gallipoli. 11.28.08 by Widge @ 7:45 pm Film: Written & Directed by: Jay Wade Edwards Features:
Region: 1 Isn't that always the way? Life in a small town on an island is fine until a stranger comes to town--then everybody's running around, other strangers are arriving, people are being mutilated, the beach is getting littered with gore…you know, the usual. Of course it's usual when the stranger is a skunk ape, finding itself a strange ape in a strange land. And now that it's in town, the authorities and Scientist Guy have to figure out a way to stop the killings--before it's too late. In the meantime, though, at least the tunes are good. 10.07.08 by Widge @ 11:06 am Normally I would wait and just include this in a Stuff feature, but we might not get one assembled in time and I thought you should know: the fourteen-movie Alfred Hitchcock: Masterpiece Collection from Universal is on sale today only (and while stocks last) from Amazon for $50.99. That's 58% off. Alfred Hitchcock's trailers were things of beauty. Here he is laying out the whole of Psycho. Direct link for the feedreaders. Wouldn't you love to see David Lynch try to explain one of his films in a trailer like this? I would give him a dollar. Categorized as: DVD
