Fantastic character actor James Whitmore, perhaps best known to audiences these days as Brooks from Shawshank, died on Friday of lung cancer at age 87. His career was huge, and he had been in everything from The Majestic and The Relic to Them! and Planet of the Apes. Thanks for everything, James.
