32 Days of Halloween VI, Movie Night No. 23: The Plague of the Zombies

Plague of the Zombies

Movie Night No. 23 of 32 Days of Halloween has long been a place for something-or-other of the Zombies…and here we have Hammer‘s Plague of the Zombies. André Morell is absolutely brilliant as Sir James, and while it’s at times a bit hokey (and that makeup is positively bonkers) it manages to be one of the creepier Hammer offerings of the 60s. Look for Hammer mainstay Michael Ripper as Sergeant Swift. Enjoy…

The film was adapted into comic book form in House of Hammer. The artists were Trevor Goring and Brian Bolland (Batman: Killing Joke) and it was adapted by Steve Moore (2000 AD). Samples of it can be found here.

The DVD appears to be out of print and is pricey. Obnoxiously, it’s out on Blu-Ray for Region 2. Figures.

Other …of the Zombies films from the past have included Blood, Horror, King, Oasis, Revolt and Vengeance. [/fusion_builder_column][/fusion_builder_row][/fusion_builder_container]
